Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coins debuted in 1979. That year featured only a 1 oz gold coin with .999 purity. From 1979 to November 1982, that was the only available option for investors in this gold bullion collection. When the series first expanded in 1982, the options introduced at that point included 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz gold coins. It wasnt until 1986 that the 1/2 oz gold coin was added to the series.
